Education, Simplified with Cisco Webex Teams(tm)
Today’s students want to learn anytime, anywhere, on any device. Teachers and administrators want to innovate faster than ever. And everyone wants to collaborate without boundaries.

How would it look if everything they needed lived in your LMS?
Teachers and administrators would organize students into groups in Cisco Webex Teams(tm) in seconds so they can collaborate on projects.
Teachers, administrators, and students would access lectures, assignments, and everything else they need in one location.
Collaboration via voice, video, chat, and file sharing would run on the same platform as all academic and administrative functions.

Connected learning just got easier.  Please join us to learn how Cisco is helping colleges and universities re-imagine the possibilities for education.

Documentation: Taming the Beast
Internal documentation is a crucial resource for IT departments of any size, for preservation and dissemination of institutional knowledge as well as business continuity and disaster recovery. Yet it seldom receives much attention at a strategic level, and obstacles to effective documentation include both technical and cultural challenges. Join us for a brief presentation of some strategies we have developed, ask questions, and share your own experiences of struggling to tame the documentation beast.

Making Course Content Accessible: Ally
Blackboard Ally helps institutions build a more inclusive learning environment and improve the student experience by helping them take clear control of course content with usability, accessibility and quality in mind. With a focus on inclusivity Ally helps faculty create more accessible content with specific in-course feedback, provides students with alternate more accessible formats of an instructor's uploaded content, and institutions see where their accessibility challenges are in the LMS and what types of documents create the most common accessibility hurdles. This allows institutions to create a thoughtful approach to an institution-wide accessibility plan.

Online Student Perceptions of Social Presence in Interactive Telepresence and Web Conferencing
Online students prefer being able to see both their instructor and course content at the same time in their online courses. This presentation extends the findings of this previous research and describes the results of a recent experiment that compared four variations of online video. A live, interactive telepresence treatment group, a live interactive web conferencing group, a recording of the telepresence group, and a recording of the web conferencing group, were all compared in terms of social presence. The same instructor, the same 20-minute presentation, and the same subject matter were used in each group. In the real-time telepresence and web conferencing treatments, the instructor and the online students were able to see and hear each other and interact in real-time. Students in the recorded telepresence and the recorded web conference groups were only able to see the presentation. The telepresence students rated the social presence of the instructor highest, followed by the web conferencing students, followed by the students who only viewed the recordings. This result helps confirm the social presence impact of live video in online courses and helps inform instructional design and technology support best practices for online courses.

Configuring a Zoom Room to Meet Program Requirements
We hope to provide our unique perspective on building a "Zoom Room" that was designed around current Higher Education trends, but did not meet the presentation needs of the program primarily using the space. After switching gears halfway through the implementation and exceeding the expected budget, we've arrived at successful setup that meets the pedagogical needs of our distance learning students better than a standard "Zoom Room" would. We want to share our journey so others may learn from it. The session will go over the particulars of the equipment we are using and why we configured the room in such a unique way. Our classroom is configured to optimize faculty presentation to an exclusively Zoom connected audience, presenting different challenges than if there were students also in the physical classroom. Some of our choices were made after observing limits in the Zoom application, which we will communicate to the session attendees. We also want to hold a facilitated space at the end for attendees to ask questions or talk about their own unique Zoom setups or needs.
