VCU's wireless network will be delivered by the Cloud by moving the complex backend controlling servers, applications, and logical functions - to the Cloud. This will reduce the hardware and software footprint on-premise while at the sametime expand the ability to use Big Data techniques and free engineering staff to grow a better customer experience. In this presentation we will show the benefits and deficits of hosting network infrastructure in the Cloud; the soft-costs and comparisons of keeping workloads and support on premise; and as well as how to quickly implement 4,000 access-points into production.
