For many years, one of Bridgewater's departmental objectives was to move the campus website off prem. Hosting the website out of our local datacenter has posed issues in the past when we have had service interruptions. In this session, we will talk about how we leveraged the new Amazon Web Services Standard Play program to accomplish this objective. This new program, targeted toward higher education intends to walk through setting up one of several service potential AWS offerings. Bridgewater elected to go with our main public facing website. In two short days with the assistance of M&S Consulting we went from having no AWS presence to having multiple servers running in AWS, a working copy of our still in development redesigned public site. Since then we have finalized the new website as well as enhanced the AWS setup to include both the production public site but also a staging server.
